Trip to the Food Bank

Jessica, Mike and Deanna

Mike, Jeff and Jessica went to the Food Bank on Thursday to pick up supplies for The Bridge. They go every week to Salinas to pick up supplies. Leslie is the Executive Director, and Deanna is the floor supervisor that helps coordinate the visits.
The Food Bank serves approximately 50,000 Monterey County residents and distributes about 5 million pounds of food per year. They collect, store and distribute food through two countywide distributor programs. The Emergency Food Assistance Program and Family Market, and the Agency Clearinghouse which is a network of 67 non-profit agencies.
They are open 1-3pm every weekday for walk-in service and have a toll-free number of 1-800-370-F-O-O-D. 24 hour assistance with all Monterey County social services is available at 1-800-339-8229. For more information about the Food Bank, HERE is their link.
It should be duly noted that the van used for these 'food runs' should get a medal of valor, and the appropriate recognition for service above and beyond the call of duty.

The Bridge is becoming an outreach to the community that is making a difference not only to the Men and their Families involved...but also to the Families of Pacific Grove and the Monterey Penninsula. Job Well Done!
