Thank you Cisco for all your time and teaching here at The Bridge! Your time here was a real blessing. We are excited to see what the next season will bring in Cisco and his family as they move back to Napa. You will be missed!

There’s a new guy behind the wheel these days that’s enjoying the privilege of being a motorist. He’s not been with a valid California driver’s license for quite some time, but has just this past week completed the necessary steps to procure that cherished piece of ID that most take for granted. Jeff is just such a guy, and let me tell you, he’s ‘spinning broadies’ to have the liberty back! As part of the mission that The Bridge has, restoring hurting men back to their faith, family and community, this is one of the highlights that we need to applaud! Congratulations, Jeff….finish well!
You might not be able to see in this picture, but if you click on the picture to make it bigger, you'll see the only (2) entries from Pacific Grove in the Metro Silicon Valley Marathon...along with their official race results. There will be more pictures and stories to come, but I just wanted you to see that what Mike and Louie set out to do, they have completed. Well done, good and faithful runners. You may now enter into 'REST'!

Well, the day has come and gone, and the memories flood our minds. It was quite a presentation of what has gone on in the last year and a half of what The Bridge is all about....restoration. Testimony after testimony was given of lives changed because of the vision that Mike and Michele have for struggling men. Men trapped by their addictions and lifestyles that rip apart their lives, families and everything around them. Many were present to give account of the generosity and servant hood of The Bridge and it's men. Be looking for more updates of the evening, including pictures of this wonderful event. We've gotten so used to coming to this blog site and seeing the very familiar 'count-down' till the event....kinda miss it now. But we'll always be looking forward to what God is doing in the lives of these men. Stay tuned!
Last night was the Most Excellent Way at CCMB. The MEW Worship Team did a fantastic job with the music, and celebrating sobriety is always a great thing. I encourage everyone to check out the TESTIMONY that Lynnea gave...it's a short video clip. But what I wanted to share here is the message that Mike gave from Hebrews 3 about slipping back into the lifestyle you were once in bondage to. As the writer of Hebrews states, it's all about a hardened heart. There isn't anything in the rear view mirror we need to see for going forward in Christ. We should remember those things that He did for us, and understand His heart that we walk victoriously. "When your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My works forty years" (Heb. 3:9) With such a big windshield in front of us with hope, and a future, the only thing we need look in the rear view mirror about is the faithfulness of our almighty Lord and Savior.
This past weekend was the '08 Pacific Grove Triathlon in which The Bridge helped out. They manned a turnabout for the runners which was the last leg a the three. Here's a few pictures of the men at work. The one just to the right shows the set-up and some of the guys filling cups and getting ready to cut up some power bars for the runners.

Mike has been running every morning since his birthday in June in an effort to get rid of that 'Bridge Belly'. He' s pretty serious about it too! It's always been a desire of his to run a marathon, and this October will be the fulfilment of that. Every morning Mike gets up early and goes running to get in shape physically, as well as spiritually. October 26th is the date for the Metro Silicon Valley Marathon. It's a 26.2 mile course that starts in downtown San Jose, goes through Cambell and Los Gatos before ending up back in downtown San Jose at the Discovery Museum Park.Louie has gotten the bug too. He says that he's always wanted to run a marathon, but had never voiced it until he found out Mike had that desire too. Now these two get up early and run. They run so that they can 'finish the race'. After Mike had his stroke, he had been told he may never walk again. Right! The power of Jesus in him now drives him to show all that He is risen, and lives in Mike to do and to will those things that glorify God. Mike lives to glorify the Lord....Louie too! Run boys Run!

Pastor Roger and his lovely bride Janet will be on the way back to the States this Friday from their time in the Philippines. Their heart is to do the bidding of the Lord, and after spending four months there, their plan is to be on the plane this Friday coming back for a season. They feel the Lord has shown them they should make annual visits for the encouragement of the saints in Christ in the Philippines. In the mean time....well, you should take a look at their blog, and catch up on what God is doing in their lives. HERE is the link. Looking forward to see them, should they come our way! Love you guys.
