Summer Fun at CCMB

Sunday, June 29th, CCMB had their Summer Festival including Bar-B-Q's, Bounce Houses and other fun things starting with 'B's. The Bridge and The Most Excellent Way helped out during the activities with cooking, serving and cleaning. I'd consider that the MEW and Bridge are one of the most giving ministries at the church. On Monday nights, the MEW gather at the church for their weekly meeting. Worship, sharing and teachings abound. Last week, Nate shared the message on Jonah. This week, I think that Mike is teaching.

Take a look at some of the fun that we shared on Sunday....

A Family Gathering

Bob Stewart was instrumental in bringing the Bridge into existence. Today, a family gathered to remember Bob and the man of God that he showed to many. The gathering was out at Rick and Lori's, and we all had a blessed time. As we prayed, we asked God "Say hi to Bob for us, Father." The sun was shining, the laughs and the fellowship were warm and embracing...and the food was as always, wonderful. We missed some that couldn't make it, but all enjoyed the time we shared. We love you, Bob. We will always be infected by the love you showed. Thanks for a wonderful day.

Clearing Brush

Thursday, Mike and some of the guys went down the coast to a place called 'Apple Pie Ranch', owned by Ross and Charise. The guys went down to help clear some brush for preventative maintenance for forest fires. A good work indeed.

But in meditating about fires, Deuteronomy 9:3 says "For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God." I think that everyone knows what a consuming fire is. Especially lately, with the news channels and papers showing what the flames do to the landscape and dwellings in the hills. 'CONSUMING!' Dwell on that for a moment. Let that sink deep into what you know to be true. Our lives are not our own, and when the LORD of the universe wants to set ablaze those things in our lives that might hinder us from worshipping Him and adoring Him, we should be like 'Here's another log for that fire, Lord!'

"The One That Didn't Get Away!"

'Jonah' - On Monday night, June 23rd, Pastor Nate shared the message at the Most Excellent Way drug and alcohol ministry. Everyone was blessed, as well as encouraged. No one was as surprised as I that Nate choose to share out of the book of Jonah, as we are well aware of Nates love of being out on the sea in a small boat...(ha). We can all be assured that Nate does all his fishing from shore! None the less, he was a true 'fisher of men...and women' Monday night. I just wanted to take a moment and thank him for his genuine love and concern for the men and women of the Most Excellent Way. - Mike C.

Monday Morning Bible Study

Mark DaVee is the new Bible Study leader for Mondays. He's seen here with Jesse and Joe as Psalm 25 is taught. Mark has been with CCMB for some time now, and has taught several home fellowships. Teaching at The Bridge is another addition to the growing list. Thanks Mark, you are a servant.

An Answer to Prayer

David is an amazing character! He was working out in Castroville for LC's Tools and Things doing maintenance on lawn mowers and the like, sharpening tools and such. But the drive was awful, and the pay minimal to make the gas ends meet. He left that job and relied on the Lord to provide. He now works for Craven Landscaping! Monday was his first day of work, thank the Lord, and I'm sure that things will work out great for David. Make sure to keep your eyes open for future posts giving profiles of the guys. David's is one that you'll not want to miss!

Sunday Evening with the Casey's

Mike and Ellie Parker spent some time with the Casey's this evening just to connect and talk about the ministry. We walked down to Cannery Row and had a hot fudge sundae at Ghiradelli's. Here's some of the pics we took from the afternoon with them, along with some pics of Carolyn, Jesse and Tony (Toner) at The Bridge. Always ready to give account of the hope that is within us, and share the love and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Serving the Community

One part of the ministry of restoration for the guys is community service. Here are some pictures of the guys picking up trash on the bike trail along the beautiful Pacific Grove coastline. Jack, Tony and David spent some time recently on a sunny afternoon helping to preserve a better community.
